Allies respond favourably to US request for aid - Mr Putin has met Lord Robertson

Brussels, 04/10/2001 (Agence Europe) - The 18 members of NATO responded favourably on Thursday to the 8-point request for assistance they were presented with on Wednesday by the United States in terms of preparing the US military riposte to the attacks of 11 September. The requests cover unrestricted use of airspace and some airbases, NATO's 17 AWACs planes, logistical support and co-operation involving information.
