10/09/2001 (Agence Europe) - In a declaration adopted during its emergency debate, the European Parliament urges the EU to pay heed to the cyclical nature of the progressively more intense drought situation in Central America and to lend support to sustainable development policy, by way of a specific farm development programme, helping to prevent drought and the deteriorating environment in the worst affected regions of Central America.
