20/07/2001 (Agence Europe) - Following the publication of the article on the meeting of the Standing Veterinary Committee devoted to the contamination of batches of Spanish olive oil residue by polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (see EUROPE of 7 July, p.8), the Spanish Ministry for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food has asked us to stipulate that this contamination concerns neither virgin olive oil or refined olive oil or olive oil.
