Brussels, 28/06/2001 (Agence Europe) - The Commission authorised CNH Global NV to take full control of Fiat Hitachi Excavator (FHE), an Italian company specialised in the production of construction equipment (diggers, loaders, levellers, etc.) and agricultural machines held until then jointly by CNH and the Japanese company Hitachi Construction Machinery Co. Both CNH and its subsidiary FHE are active on the European market for construction equipment. However, the operation does not lead to a new addition of shares of the constructions equipment market, and the cumulated market shares of CNH and FHE are not of a nature to cause concern on the competition level, the two companies being submitted to strong competition by Catapillar, Liebherr, Komatsu and other companies.
