Luxembourg, 28/06/2001 (Agence Europe) - Wolfgang Thierse, Bundestag President, visited the Court of Justice and the Court of First Instance of the European Communities on 25 June, in Luxembourg. He was received by Presidents Gil Carlos Rodriguez Iglesias and Bo Vesterdorf. A press release from the Court's press service points out that, on this occasion, Mr Rodriguez Iglesias spoke of the main themes of the future (enlargement, institutional reform), mainly stressing the growing participation of national parliaments in European construction. The president of the German parliament, notes the press release, stressed that the next few years will be "European" years marked by a broad public debate on the European constitutional process, a process in which the parliaments of Member States should be involved as rapidly as possible.
