Brussels, 28/06/2001 (Agence Europe) - The European Investment Bank (EIB) provided, on Wednesday, loan financing facilities amounting to EUR 134 million for two projects in Denmark, that will support technological upgrades and innovation in the provision of public services. The first loan (EUR 107 million), signed with Danmark Radio (DR), concerns the construction of new radio and television production installations that should be operational by 2005. EIB financing will complete the funds that DR has raised from Danish and international business banks. The second loan (EUR 27 million) will be for Post Danmark, which needs to upgrade its mail distribution system in several Danish sorting centres. The installation of a new automated parcel distribution system is also provided for.
