The Norwegian group TELENOR has launched a partial takeover bid for the Malaysian mobile phone operator DIGI.COM for US$365 million. TELENOR is offering 6.6 Malaysian dollars a share to increase its stake to between 50 and 61%. 61% is in fact the maximum stake a foreign company is allowed to hold in a Malaysian company.
