The Wall Street Journal and the Handelsblatt have published the second edition of "EUROPE 500", a study that presents the rating of the 500 largest European companies in terms of turnover. This grading presents the following characteristics: i) DAIMLERCHRYSLER finds itself, for the second year in a row, in first place; ii) out of the 500 companies, 26.4% are British, 17.4% German, 15.8% French and 7.2% Dutch; iii) The "Top 10" is dominated by German companies with 6 companies being present; iv) the sectors of the "old economy" remain influential with five oil companies and four automobile companies in the "Top 20"; v) the insurance sector is also well represented in the "Top 20" with four companies present.
