Concern over renewed military activity by the SPLA

Brussels, 13/06/2001 (Agence Europe) - Just a few days after issuing a relatively optimistic declaration on the peace process in Sudan (see yesterday's EUROPE, p.5), the Swedish EU Presidency issued another declaration on 12 June expressing its concern about renewed military activity by the Sudanese People's Liberation Army (SPLA), and about the aerial bombings by the Sudanese government in response to this offensive.
