ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) technology

The American group CENDANT, owner of the car rentals firm AVIS and several hotel chains, is negotiating the purchase of the electronic booking firm GALILEO for $2.8 bn. GALILEO ($1.64 bn turnover in 2000), held by a consortium of North American and European airline companies is the second largest ticket booking system in the world, behind SABRE.
