08/06/2001 (Agence Europe) - According to Eurostat, the GDP of the Euro zone and the European Union (EU15) over the first quarter of this year increased by 0.5% in relation to the previous quarter, and, compared to the first quarter of last year, by 2.5%. Estimates of the Community's Statistical Office stipulate that growth in end-consumption of households accelerated slightly in the two zones from January to March, whereas investments were down. It is industry that saw the greatest growth.....
