Commission pursues proceedings against Germany for poor application of directive on liberalization of gas sector

Brussels, 06/06/2001 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday, the Commission decided to send a reasoned opinion to the German Government for having only partially implemented the June 1998 directive aimed at ensuring the liberalization of the gas sector in the EU. It is on 10 August of last year that Member States were to have implemented the text. The current German legislation, adopted before the directive, certainly responds to certain demands of the latter. Germany has informed the Commission...
