VIVENDI UNIVERSAL, formed with the merger between VIVENDI, CANAL+ and Canadian SEAGRAM, has bought up 16.9 million of the shares from the Bronfman family, former SEAGRAM owner, for 75.1 euros per share. The Bronfman family, which held 7.5% of VIVENDI UNIVERSAL, lowers its share to 6.1% but remains the main shareholder.
