ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) banks

The Swiss bank CORNER BCA (net profits CHF 74.4 million with own funds of CHF 440.6 million), which provides private banking services, has acquired 55% of the Italian UNIPROF SIM (net profits of EUR 2.9 million with EUR 240 million in managed assets in 2000), with a purchase option on another 25%. The amount of the acquisition was not revealed.
