Stockholm, 20/04/2001 (Agence Europe) - The President of Ecofin, Bosse Ringholm, will speak on behalf of the Member States of the European Union during the tenth annual meeting of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), which will take place on 23 and 24 April in London, indicates a press release.
Next week, the EBRD, which was created in 1991, will celebrate its tenth anniversary. On this occasion, Jean Lemierre, who has run the Bank since June 2000, will present a five-year action programme, in which he will not call for additional capital for the current year. Mr Lemierre stated, according to AFP, that the EBRD's ability to invest "is good", but that "we want to do better", without increasing the funds available.
