Brussels, 02/04/2001 (Agence Europe) - India's Foreign Minister Jaswant Singh will be in Stockholm, on Wednesday, to hold an exchange of views with the Union Troika in the context of the dialogue on current foreign and security issues, inaugurated last summer. The meeting, chaired by President of the Council Anna Lindh, between representatives of the European Commission and Belgium, will mainly cover EU-India bilateral relations, recent developments in Asia and within the EU, as well as disarmament.
The visit will also provide Mr Singh with an opportunity to discuss with Swedish Trade Minister Leif Pagrotsky the launching of a new round of multilateral trade talks in the autumn. This is a priority project for the Union which still gives rise to strong reservation in New Delhi.
