The Spanish group CORTEFIEL (turnover of EUR 447 million in the first nine months of the 2000-2001 financial year), number three in ready to wear in Spain behind ZARA and MANGO, will launch a take-over bid for its fellow national ADOLFO DOMINGUEZ (turnover of EUR 93.8 million in 2000 with 155 sales outlets in Europe, Japan and Latin American), specialised in high quality ready to wear. CORTEFIEL is offering EUR 9 per share, valuing the house of the Spanish creator at EUR 78.4 million.
