ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) chemicals

The British oil group BP AMOCO announced the sale of it plastic, textile and fibre optics manufacturing activities on 19 sites throughout the world, of which ten in Germany and the United Kingdom. Also included are the BP stakes in joint ventures in China, France, the United Kingdom and the United States. BP AMOCO has not indicated the amount it hopes to get for this sale, but added that this sector represents an annual turnover of one billion Dollars with a total workforce of 7,000 employees.
