In Strasbourg next week, Parliament should demand harmonisation of levels of alcohol intake behind the wheel

Brussels, 12/01/2001 (Agence Europe) - Harmonisation in Europe of the maximum "level of alcohol" authorised behind the wheel is the main point of contention between the European Parliament's political groups which, in plenary session on 17 January, will vote on the "priorities of road safety in the European Union".

Should it follow its rapporteur, Swedish Socialist Ewa Hedkvist Peterseen, the European Parliament should call for the compulsory introduction of a maximum level of alcohol...
