Commission invites Sweden to modify its system for reducing social contributions in northern Sweden

Brussels, 22/12/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has taken a final negative decision regarding the aid scheme applied in Sweden which comprises a reduction of social contributions granted to companies established in northern Sweden. Commissioner Mario Monti, however, specified that the system could become lawful if it were changed.
