Brussels, 21/11/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has adopted the operational programme for aid under Objective 1 of regional policy for Sachsen-Anhalt (Germany). This text complements the Community Support Framework for Objective 1 in Germany for 2000-2006 by defining the priorities of this instrument of Community regional policy in that Land. The main priority is to help speed-up economic growth. Equal opportunities, the development of the information society, loans to SMEs, lifelong learning, the diversification of activities in rural areas, the environment, are all priorities defined by the Commission. The Land of Sachsen-Anhalt will receive 3.35 billion euro in EU aid, complemented by 2.75 billion euro from the German authorities and 2.59 by the private sector.
