ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) banks

The Italian Insurer GENERALI paid EUR 608 million for the 16.5 million shares in the German bank COMMERZBANK acquired in the framework of a reserved capital increase of the latter. This price values a COMMERZBANK share at EUR 36.82. This operation enables GENERALI to double from around 5% to 10% its sake in the fourth largest German bank.
