Brussels, 02/10/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has sent "statements of objections" to the Belgian brewers Interbrew, Alken-Maes, Haacht and Martens, as well as the Luxembourg producers, Diekirch, Bofferding, Mousel & Clausen, Battin and De Wiltz. The objections comprise, for the Belgians, market distribution and price setting, from 1993 to 1998 (at least); for the Luxembourg firms, an agreement over market distribution in the restaurant, hotels and cafes sectors from 1985 to 1998 (at least).
Similar enquiries in France, Italy, the Netherlands and Denmark are continuing: no infringement has so far been found.
