Strasbourg, 19/05/2000 (Agence Europe) - French and German members of the EPP group in the European Parliament, meeting in Strasbourg under the auspices of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, co-chaired by Margie Sudre (RPR) and Doris Pack, called for the relaunch of Franco-German dialogue and reiterated their will to work together at parliamentary level. According to a press release put out by the EPP, Members from the RPR, DL, UDF, CDU and CSU, recalled in connection with "recent initiatives by political officials on both sides of the Rhine related to the future of the Union", the "success already registered by enhanced cooperation between these two countries, and beyond, including in the Schengen area, the euro, Airbus and the mergers of big companies".
