Fischler seeks timetable in Rabat for technical negotiation of new fisheries agreement

Brussels, 17/05/2000 (Agence Europe) - European Commissioner Franz Fischler will be in Rabat on Thursday to discuss EU/Morocco fisheries relations, first of all with the Moroccan prime minister and then with the fisheries minister. His aim is to obtain confirmation that it is possible to negotiate a new fisheries agreement, which would be of a radically different kind to that which expired in November (and that Morocco refuses to renew at any rate).
