ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) insurance

In Finland, the insurer SAMPO and the bank LEONIA, now merging, have sold their 27% stake in POHJOLA to the mutual company ILLMARINEN (pension-insurance) and mutual insurer SUOMI (life-insurance) for 745 million euro. Through this operation, the two buyers now hold a 75% stake in POHJOLA.
