Brussels, 08/05/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission adopted its 29th report on competition policy which presents, like every year, all activities in this sector. The year 1999 was rich in new cases reviewed by the Commission, which began examination of 1200 cases during the year, of which 512 in the state aid sector (an increase of 15% over the previous year) and 300 mergers and acquisitions (as opposed to 245 in 1998).
