08/05/2000 (Agence Europe) - Member of the EP Gerardo Galeote (Partido Popular; member of the EPP Observation Committee for Austria, see EUROPE of 7 April, page 3), after a number of meetings in Vienna, said he expects a declaration to the effect that the ÖVP would break off its ties with the FPÖ if the latter were to deviate from the EU's fundamental principles.
