Council decides in principle on exceptional financial aid of EUR 20 million, a guarantee for EIB loans up to EUR 50 million is being studied

Brussels, 08/05/2000 (Agence Europe) - The Ecofin Council gave, on Monday, its agreement of principle to the granting of exceptional EU financial assistance to Montenegro, amounting to EUR 20 million. At the same time, the European Investment Bank (EIB) was invited to seek a solution to the legal difficulties relating to EIB loans for the financing of projects to be carried out in Montenegro, for an amount of up to EUR 50 million.
