CHASE MANHATTAN has announced, as planned, the acquisition of the ROBERT FLEMING investment bank for the sum of £4.88 billion. The offer comprises cash of £2.573 billion and a share exchange worth $3.622 billion. The British bank will be renamed CHASE FLEMING after finalisation of the operation foreseen within four months from now. See E.I. of 12 April.
