President Prodi meets Jordanian sovereign - Hoping for increased EU role in peace process - Enforcement of association agreement will rekindle cooperation

Brussels, 13/04/2000 (Agence Europe) - King Abdallah of Jordan met, on Thursday, the president of the European Commission, Mr Romano Prodi, after a meeting with Chris Patten, Commissioner for External Relations. Talks focused above all on three themes:

1) Bilateral relations. Cooperation should, within the next few months, enter a more active phase with enforcement of the Association Agreement so far ratified by seven EU Member States. The European Parliament, for its part, accomplished...
