State of Commission deliberations on German aid to Leuna refinery (CDU-ELF affair)

Brussels, 24/01/2000 (Agence Europe) - Answering questions on Monday on the DM 30 million that French oil company Elf Aquitaine is said to have paid to the German political party CDU during the Leuna privatisation in 1992, the spokesperson for European Competition Commissioner Mario Monti recalled that the European Commission is examining two State aid cases linked to Elf's acquisition of Leuna.
