- Europe: The European satellite telecommunications organisation, EUTELSAT (sales of EUR 470 million in 1999 with a fleet of 15 satellites), will be privatised in early 2001, a move that could be followed by its introduction on the stock market. The leading European satellite telecommunications operator, EUTELSAT, which has 47 member countries, is owned today by mostly private operators. - Zambia: President Frederick Chiluba has announced that 234 state-owned companies have been privatised...
