07/07/26 (Agence Europe) – The Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) and its partners on Monday 6 July launched the first edition of the Euro-Mediterranean Women in Journalism Award. This award will recognise solution-focused work that is sensitive to gender issues in the regional context. Applications, whether individual or collective (with at least 50% women where applicable), must address the UfM’s current priorities, including climate, socioeconomic inclusion and digital transformation. The winners will in particular receive exclusive access to the skills-building sessions of the Euro-Mediterranean Network of Women Journalists. “Women remain underrepresented as sources, subjects and journalists across the Euro-Mediterranean region”, pointed out Petra Kežman, UfM Deputy Secretary General for Human Development, stressing that this award “amplifies diverse voices, challenges harmful narratives, and fosters cooperation across borders”. Candidates have until 13 September to apply. More information: https://aeur.eu/f/mqx (JM)
