03/07/26 (Agence Europe) – In a document published on Thursday 2 July, the Alliance of Passenger Rail New Entrants in Europe (ALLRAIL) calls for the principles of the Digital Markets Act (DMA) to be applied to the forthcoming reform of rail ticketing (see EUROPE 13868/2). According to the association, dominant ticketing platforms, run by established market players, overshadow independent operators whose services are not displayed or offered for sale on fair terms. “The Single European Rail Area remains incomplete if passengers cannot see or buy the full range of rail offers,” the organisation argues. ALLRAIL calls for travel options to be presented neutrally, asks that all operators be visible, comparable and bookable on ticketing platforms, and demands fair and non-discriminatory conditions of access in the new European framework for rail ticketing.
