26/06/2026 (Agence Europe) – The rail passengers’ rights package, presented in mid-May (see EUROPE 13868/2), marks a major step forward for passengers’ rights, according to T&E. However, in an analysis published on Friday 26 June, the think tank makes several recommendations. The regulation on the ‘single ticket’ provides for dominant ticketing platforms to be required to display and resell tickets from all operators in the national territory. The think tank calls for the geographical scope of these obligations to be extended, in order to ensure that passengers’ rights are respected. In addition, T&E recommends better informing the public of its rights, and requiring all transport operators to communicate their greenhouse gas emissions data, under the regulation on multimodal booking.
