26/06/2026 (Agence Europe) – The Council of the European Union decided on Friday 26 June to extend until 29 July 2027 the EU sanctions targeting persons and entities responsible for threats to peace, stability and security in Haiti, or undermining democracy and the Rule of law. That decision, taken following the annual review of the sanctions regime, is justified by the persistence of gang violence and criminal activities destabilising the country. The measures concern nine individuals and one entity, subject to an asset freeze and, for natural persons, a ban on entry into the territory of the Union.
