European Commission opens investigation into possible circumvention of anti-dumping measures by China

26/06/2026 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 24 June, the European Commission opened an ‘anti-dumping’ investigation into imports of trichloroisocyanuric acid, a sterilising product, from China. The procedure is intended to verify whether exporters are circumventing EU anti-dumping duties by reducing their export prices. In this specific case, the complainants, Ercros S.A. and Electroquímica de Hernani S.A., provided evidence deemed sufficient, showing that after anti-dumping measures entered into force in 2025, Chinese export prices fell. According to the notice published by the Commission, that decrease cannot be explained by other factors, such as lower transport costs, changes in energy prices or exchange-rate fluctuations.
