18/06/2026 (Agence Europe) – The Council of the EU took note, on Thursday 18 June, of the 11th report on the implementation of the 74 joint proposals approved by the EU and NATO in 2016 and 2017. This report by the European External Action Service confirms that the two organisations continue to make “substantial” progress in their strategic partnership and highlights concrete achievements in all areas of engagement between June 2025 and May 2026. Political dialogue has intensified and cooperation has been strengthened in the areas of hybrid threats, resilience and preparedness. Civil-military cooperation and coordination of communication activities have also seen “significant progress”. Contacts have been stepped up as well on cooperation on defence capabilities.
