09/06/2026 (Agence Europe) – Nordic and Baltic leaders emphasised their support for Ukraine’s accession to NATO and the EU on Tuesday 9 June. “We will continue working to anchor Ukraine more firmly into the Euro-Atlantic community, reaffirming that Ukraine’s future is in the EU and NATO”, they said after a summit in Tallinn with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. “Ukraine is already a strategic security partner to NATO”, the leaders noted, adding that they were determined to help strengthen the Alliance. They further emphasised that they would strive to strengthen defence industrial co-operation, regional supply chains and co-operation on defence procurement. “We will work to mobilise support for EU efforts and increased funding for the rapid implementation of European defence readiness initiatives, including Eastern Flank Watch”, they promised.
