09/06/2026 (Agence Europe) – A second draft of the European Council conclusions of 18 and 19 June has been submitted to the EU Member States, which will discuss it on Wednesday 10 June. The draft adds new wording on Iran (see EUROPE 13884/30) and clarifies the paragraph devoted to the Multiannual Financial Framework in greater detail, with a clearer timetable. On this subject, the 8 June text calls on the “Irish Presidency to take the work forward on the Negotiating Box by the October European Council, with a view to reaching an agreement by the end of the year, which would allow for the adoption of legislative acts in 2027, which is necessary to ensure that EU funding reaches beneficiaries without interruption in January 2028”. As regards competitiveness and global economic imbalances, it calls for decisive progress on the Single Market, simplification and the reduction of administrative burdens, as well as on affordable energy prices and the promotion of industrial renewal.
