09/06/2026 (Agence Europe) – On the sidelines of an EU Council meeting of transport ministers in Luxembourg on Monday 8 June, the ministers of nine Member States, together with European Commissioner for Sustainable Transport and Tourism Apóstolos Tzitzikóstas, approved the first two ‘roadmaps’ under the ‘Clean Transport Corridor’ initiative. The two texts were approved by Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Lithuania, Malta, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland and Sweden. These ‘roadmaps’ are intended in particular to accelerate deployment of charging infrastructure for zero-emission lorries along two corridors of the Trans-European Transport Network: Scandinavian-Mediterranean and North Sea-Baltic. Furthermore, the European Commission plans to extend this initiative to all TEN-T corridors this year. (JV)
