03/06/2026 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission’s Directorate-General for International Partnerships (INTPA) and the Argentine Secretariat for Drug Policies (SEDRONAR) signed two letters of intent on Tuesday 2 June, with the aim of strengthening their cooperation against drug trafficking and drug use. The first seeks to roll out wastewater analysis in Argentina, a method already tested in Europe to measure the consumption of illicit substances among the population. The second letter focuses on developing local community structures through the creation of new prevention instruments. This initiative forms part of ‘COPOLAD III’, a cooperation programme supporting the reform of drug policies in Latin America and the Caribbean. (JM)
