13/05/2026 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 13 May, the Member States’ ambassadors to the European Union (Coreper) approved the provisional agreement reached five days earlier by the Cyprus Presidency of the EU Council with the European Parliament on the so-called ‘AI Omnibus’ package (see EUROPE 13864/18). The European Parliament plans to put the agreement to the vote at its June plenary session, following its adoption by the committee on 2 June. The EU Council will then formally adopt the agreed text. This legislative package aims to simplify European rules on artificial intelligence and introduces a new ban on non-consensual ‘nudification’ practices, in the wake of the Grok scandal. (APH)
