23/04/2026 (Agence Europe) – At their fifth security and defence dialogue on Tuesday 21 April, the European Union and Norway agreed that in the global security context, in particular the Russian aggression in Ukraine, it was “essential to strengthen the EU-Norway Security and Defence Partnership (SDP)”. As part of the implementation of the partnership, the two parties have focused their efforts on cooperation in the fight against hybrid and cyber threats, contribution to common security and defence policy missions and operations, defence-industrial cooperation, maritime security and preparedness and resilience. In a joint declaration, they agreed to strengthen their ability to respond to evolving security risks, particularly in the Arctic region, and to intensify their cooperation in critical areas necessary for civil-military interaction.
