European Union gives Afghanistan €175,000 to cope with recent floods

23/04/2026 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday, 23 April, the European Union announced that it had released €175,000 in humanitarian aid in response to the recent floods in Afghanistan. This funding, which comes from the Disaster Response Emergency Fund (DREF), will help around 12,000 people in eight provinces that were hit especially hard, including Herat, Kandahar, and Helmand.
