09/04/2026 (Agence Europe) – As part of the “simplification” of the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR) proposed by the European Commission last November (see EUROPE 13756/15), the European federation of investors and users of financial services, Better Finance, called on Wednesday 8 April for a clearer, more credible and citizen-centred framework. In a press release, the Federation considers that current regulations, although they have increased transparency, remain too complex and insufficiently clear for small investors. The organisation is calling for more rigorous product categories to combat greenwashing and better direct savings towards the transition. It also stresses the need for a mandatory commitment from investors to guarantee the impact of sustainable investments. Finally, Better Finance is calling for simplified, standardised and easily comparable information to enable investors to make informed decisions. (BD)
