09/04/2026 (Agence Europe) – Given the current geopolitical context, the European Commission is changing the agenda for the next meeting of the College of European Commissioners, which was originally dedicated to relations between China and the European Union. “President von der Leyen decided to devote [this meeting, scheduled for] Monday, 13 April, to discuss[ing] the situation in the Middle East and its broader impact on Europe,” Paula Pinho, the EU institution’s spokesperson, announced on Thursday, 9 April. She added that the college would “take stock of all the activities that the Commission is carrying out to address the current situation—from energy to transport, from migration to internal security—and all the policy areas that are impacted by this conflict.” Ms Pinho did not give a new date for the college’s discussion on EU–China relations.
