31/03/2026 (Agence Europe) – The dossier on the 28th regime for companies has been assigned to the European Parliament’s Committee on Legal Affairs (JURI) with an opinion from the Budgets Committee (BUDG), but the Committee has decided to wait before appointing a rapporteur (see EUROPE 13831/8). The deadline for contesting this main award to the JURI Committee is 9 April, and other committees would be interested in acting as co-rapporteur on this case. In JURI, the EPP is said to have expressed an interest in recovering the file. German Socialist René Repasi was the European Parliament’s rapporteur on the own-initiative report on the same subject. The decision on the main rapporteur should be taken at the JURI coordinators’ meeting, scheduled for around 15/16 April. (SP)
