13/02/2026 (Agence Europe) – A delegation from the European Parliament’s Committee on Fisheries will be visiting Victoria (Seychelles) from 17 to 19 February, to assess the impact of the fisheries agreement between the EU and the Seychelles. The mission takes place against the backdrop of ongoing negotiations on a new sustainable fisheries partnership (see EUROPE 13655/10). MEPs will be examining progress on sustainable fishing, fisheries control and the fight against illegal fishing. On-the-spot visits will be made to the port, tuna canneries and the fishing monitoring centre. The MEPs will also be holding discussions with European shipowners and small-scale fishermen. The MEPs on mission include Giuseppe Milazzo (ECR, Italian), Francisco José Millán Mon (EPP, Spanish) and Emma Wiesner (Renew Europe, Swedish). (LC)
